I stopped, taken aback by his words. Corrupted mind that I have, I couldn't get past the literal words he had said to try to understand what he was really trying to say. But then I started to say it out loud, repeating it more quickly, letting the words blend together, and I understood. He had chocolate.
He was slowly indulging on a piece of brownie that my wife had made the day before. Savoring the sweetness as it rolled over his tongue, he was actually salivating, little chocolate dribble sliding down his chin. How could I possibly allow my mind to think something so horrible when it came out of a mouth so innocent and sweet (pun intended)?!
