Troy and my mother-in-law have developed a new game that they play upstairs. Whereas Troy used to ask her to turn the lights on in the media room, so he could play in his castle, ball pit, and tunnels; now he asks her to leave them off. He pretends that the dark room is actually a cave with a vicious wolf inside. He fearlessly rushes inside and shuts the door behind him. I guess he feels the complete and utter darkness gives the wolf the same disadvantage as he has not being able to see anything.
The best part is when they let me play along too. When Troy turns to close the doors, I will hide in some dark corner or behind some implement so he can’t see me. He then worriedly staggers around the room, calling for me to make sure that the wolf hasn’t eaten me.
