The Labyrinthine Wedding – Day 4

We stayed up late (after midnight) watching movies last night, so today was another lazy morning.  My mother-in-law came a-knockin’ at some point to see if we wanted to go shopping, and as I was the only one up, I threw on some clothes and headed out with her.  I’m not sure if I was there to carry the bags, look intimidating, or to look stupid when people would ask me something in Greek only to be greeted with my blank stare.  But I did all three.

Most of the day, we just hung around the house, so Troy could play with Raia, my mother-in-law’s German Shepherd.  He’s been trying to convince us to get him a dog ever since we arrived here.  It’s funny to see Raia follow my mother-in-law around and to see Troy follow Raia around.

This evening, we went back to the mall, so my mother-in-law could buy Troy some toys…like he needs more toys.  Oh well, I did my best to curb her buying frenzy.  It was hard to convince her that Troy just likes to play with the toys.  He doesn’t actually want to buy them.  She thinks if he pulls it off the shelf, then she should put it in the basket.  She also had a hard time just standing around and waiting while Troy played.  She kept trying to herd him along through the store.  Taking Troy to a toy store is an investment of time.

We got home late, had dinner, watched a movie, and went to bed late again.  I’ve never had jet lag before coming to Greece, but this trip has been terrible on all of us.  Our sleep cycles are all messed up.
