Falling Husbands

Today, we went to the doctor's office for an egg extraction. This requires them to sedate my wife. Unfortunately, the nurse was having a hard time finding a vein on my wife, and it was causing my wife to scream out in pain. Between her screams and the nurse describing every minute detail of the procedure, I started to feel queasy.
Now, it should be noted that I don't do well with any kind of medical procedure. I have fainted while giving blood (every time) and while my father stitched my torn shin back together. I have even fainted at the eye doctor when they dilate my pupils (every time). I can get squeamish just by listening to someone describe an operation or procedure.
At this point, they had finally started her sedatives, so she was starting to get drowsy. Well, I didn't want the focus to be taken away from my wife, because she deserved their full attention. So, I stood up and walked out of the little room we were in. I intended to go outside, get some air, and splash some cold water on my face. Instead, I woke up to a nurse slapping me in the face. I apparently had made it to the reception desk, though honestly I have no idea how I made it that far, before the world went totally black. All I remembered after making it to the door of the room was sleeping and having a nice dream, before I was rudely awaken.
I found out later that my wife, totally cool and chill from the drugs, calmly said, "That was my husband." The nurse asked, "What was your husband?" "That thud in the hall was my husband." Which is what alerted them to my condition.
The long story short of it is that everything went pretty smoothly after that. It was only later that I started to feel the physical effects. By analyzing my various injuries, I have been able to piece together how I think I went down. I think I hit the wall and started to slide down it, which is evident by the scratch across my right shoulder. Physics kicked in at this point, and the drag on my right shoulder slowed that side of my body down even while the left side continued to fall. This caused my body to twist with me doing a face plant into the floor directly on my left shoulder with my face following soon after. This is evident by the splitting pain in my left shoulder and the busted lip in the same side.
This marked a first in my life, to actually black out sympathetically, having nothing actually done directly to me.
