Moms Can Never Take a Sick Day

My wife and I have both been sick with colds this week, which really sucks when you have an infant in the house.  It’s not like you can huddle up in a corner and shun the world until you feel better.  He still needs taking care of even if you have no energy to do so.  And it’s really easy to want to just let your partner take care of everything while you go on being sick, which doesn’t work when they’re sick too.  Besides, even if you tried to do it, you’d quickly feel sorry for them and guilty for not taking care of them at the same time.  So, here we are, both suffering, taking turns and doing the best we can to push through it without getting our son sick as well.  I guess it’s true what they say, “Moms (and dads) can never take a sick day.”
