Since Troy has a diminished week next due to a holiday and teacher conferences, we decided to pull him out the entire week and take a family vacation. We could all use the break, and we’d like to get away from the warmer weather. So, we decided to go somewhere exotic, and we drove to Houston.
Yeah, I know. There are more exotic and pleasant places than Houston in October, but we didn’t have a large travel fund, and my son has never really seen where I grew up. So, we’re going to find some fun places to visit and make the most of it.
We’re staying at the Palace Inn Blue Edgebrook. Despite it distinctly lacking amenities and being on the lower star end, it’s actually clean and very nice. It’s not in the nicest neighborhood, but it’s conveniently located to all of the things that we wanted to do here.
The drive here was what you’d expect…long and filled with traffic and law enforcement officers. But we weren’t in a rush, so it was fine.
